MI Public Schools look to GAIN MONEY for less student enrollment for 2019-2020

LANSING- Rep. Regina Weiss (D) introduced House Bill 5270  to the House floor on August 18, 2021. This bill will appropriate $200 million to school districts that have fewer students per teacher than they did the previous year.

This bill will amend 1979 PA 94, entitled “The state school aid act of 1979.” From the state school aid fund money appropriated under section 11, there is allocated for 2021-2022 an amount not to exceed $200,000,000.00 for payments.
